Tips to reduce stress in your work environment and when working from home.


COVID-19 has deeply affected our lives. We cannot leave our homes and are forced to do work from home. Working from home and self-isolation can cause stress in some people. But you do not need to worry there are many ways to reduce this type of stress.


Some tips to reduce stress when you are working from home:

The following are some tips that you can follow to help you deal with the stress at work and make you do your tasks more efficiently.


Make effort for work wellness


Your workplace environment should motivate you to do work. Not everyone has a home office. But there are many ways by which you can have fun while working from home and you will complete work at a much faster pace. You should do the following things.


• Find a quiet, secluded place away from distractions.

• Set up a comfortable place to work which supports your posture and allows you to sit comfortably through your working hours.

• Have a lot of greenery around to make you feel fresh while working.

• Always have a water bottle or juice nearby to keep you hydrated.

• You should also have a lot of natural light. Natural light will prevent you from getting tired and you can work for longer hours.

• Set yourself a timer for lunch and other necessary breaks and try to stick with it to avoid distractions.

Make a schedule and organise your work.


You can often feel overwhelmed by the amount of work you get, and you do not have the freedom to ask your colleagues or superiors to help you with it. Organising your work and making a schedule can really help you deal with the problem.


• You should set clear objectives for each day and then work hard to reach those objectives.

• Make a list of Priority, Medium Priority and Can Wait Until… tasks and follow it from the most urgent to the lest urgent..

• Keep yourself focus and avoid distraction. Only answer the emails that are important and avoid the ones you enjoy answering (like to your colleague friend) Keep this in mind as a record when you will complete the urgent task.

• Tick your tasks when complete as that gives you satisfaction and helps to plan better in the future.

• Also, try to focus on just one or two things and forget about the rest.


If you try to focus on everything then you will not get any work done and you will keep stressing out the entire time.

Eat healthy food and do exercises.


Eating healthy food will increase your productivity and your brain will not get tired from work stress that easily. Healthy food will also help you think of creative ideas to solve your problems while doing work. So, make sure to eat healthy food and have light snacks during work also.

• Doing exercise before and after work is also a great way of reducing work stress.

• Exercise keeps you in a good mood throughout the day and you will have a positive attitude toward the work.

• Prepare snacks for your working time and have them close by so you avoid distractions while getting them.

• Avoid too much coffee and sugary snacks as those just increase your stress levels. If you feel stresses have some water or camomile tea instead.

• Don’t forget to breath! Keep remembering while working to look away from the screen or close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. As this helps your eyes and your mind rest, which reduces tension and stress.

• Exercise keeps you in a good mood throughout the day and you will have a positive attitude toward the work.

• After work yoga, meditation or exercise is a form of mediation and has a soothing effect on your body and helps you relax, so you can concentrate on your activities after work and relax from the stress of the day.

Get proper sleep.


Getting proper sleep is important whether you are working in an office or working from home. If you are tired and restless during your work from home, then your stress level will increase, and you will be irritable. Therefore, you must get enough restful sleep at night. Evening meditation and a hot bath can help you sleep better.


A specific amount of stress is good as it will keep you focused on your work and help you cross the finish line. But if this stress increases to a level where you cannot cope or becomes constant it can have disastrous effects on your health and work life. You must look for ways to reduce that stress so you can work diligently.

However, working from home or work, in general, doesn't have to be stressful, if you plan your work, set up the right environment and include time for your body and mind to have enough effective breaks, even the most overwhelming day can be enjoyable.
